Here I am with another weekend creation from our most recent stamp haul at the Heirloom’s Lawrenceville Rubber Stamp & Paper Arts Festival. This card was created with a Pink and Main stamp set called Need Coffee. Here is the package image containing all the stamps (you can click on Pink and Main or the image to check out their shop).

Isn’t this an adorable stamp set. This stamp set was from Cheyenne’s haul. She has been wanting this stamp set since October when she first saw it at Pink and Main’s booth during a different stamp show weekend. As I mentioned in the last post, I like to design a card around a card challenge and well, why not???

The challenge I chose for this card design is Fab Friday 105 card sketch challenge. Here is the card sketch:

There were four of use working on our own variation of this card. We chose our own color palette and embossing folder. I will post Cheyenne’s card at the end of the post. I don’t have pictures of the other cards.

We took our coffee girl and stamped her onto FSJ Whip Cream cardstock using Memento ink. In hindsight, we should have stamped the image using FSJ Black Licorice because the FSJ Fusion Blender we used to blend the colored pencil areas made some of the ink smear. We colored our images with the FSJ Color Burst Pencils. The FSJ Fusion Blender was used with the Blender stumps to smooth the colors together.

I used the FSJ pierced Circle die to create the circle mat out of FSJ Whip Cream cardstock and stamped the coffee cup in FSJ Oatmeal Cookie to add depth and bring interest. I added a touch of Spectrum Noir clear glitter pen to the bunny noses and ears, the steam from the coffee, and the pink sponge curlers. I applied Journey Glaze to the cofee to add a little shine. The sentiment is stamped with VersaMark ink and embossed with white embossing powder on FSJ Black Licorice cardstock.

Let me take a moment to comment on the mat and the red dot embellishment next to the sentiment. The quilted mat was created from FSJ Candy Apple cardstock using a We R Memory Keepers Next Leveling Embossing folder (this one is Cheyenne’s) purchased from Creek Bank Creations. Under the Candy Apple mat is a FSJ Cool Pool mat giving a hint of light blue. The red embellishment dot was created using Nuvo Red Berry Crystal Drops which was purchased from Sparkle and Sprinkle.

Here is the completed card:

Here is Cheyenne’s card (the base mat is FSJ Deep Lilac, the quilted mat is FSJ Cool Pool, the pierced rectangle mat is FSJ Lavender Fusion cardstocks):

I have some super exciting news! I have made a move over to Fun Stamper’s Journey and I am, now, a Journey Coach. You can check out my website www.funstampersjourney.com/martymcgee . I have been considering this move for over a year. I think I have watched every video on YouTube of other coaches and Richard Garay and his team creating simply amazing papercraft projects. I just received my starter kit last week, and I have tried out their paper, inks, and stamps and I must say, I’m super impressed with the quality, designs, and on-trend products they provide the papercrafting community.

One of their best products for beginning and experienced crafters is their Bloom Box .

This card kit is $24.95 with a six-month commitment (this does not include shipping and tax). It includes a stamp set valued at $16-18. All the paper supplies to create 4 card projects along with a color instruction booklet giving step-by-step instructions with pictures. You supply the tools, inks, and adhesives. If you live close to me, my Bloom Box crafters meet once a month and use my inks and additional supplies (you bring your basic tools and adhesive). This is a great time together creating simply adorable cards.

September 22nd, 23rd, and the month of October features a $99.00 starter kit (note the Amaze machine (this is their new smaller machine that is being officially introduced in October). Click on the picture below to be redirected to my website with the details.

I purchased the Blooming Platinum, which includes the FSJ Platinum Machine (this die cutting machine will hold 8 1/2 x 11 cardstock).

There is still time to get in on the September Promotion. Fun Stampers Journey is offering their Essential Tools at a 20% discount. This is a great time to invest in their Bloom Tool, adhesive, totes, scissors, and other necessary tools to create amazing projects. Here is the flyer link (click on the picture):

This is the last of my Scrapbook Expo posts. I know I can be addicted to papercraft shopping. O.k., that’s an understatement, but I do have some restraint. So, I planned before I arrived at the Expo to purchase a Misti. I have been watching numerous YouTube channels featuring many papercrafters using the Misti, and I just had to have one. During the Mega Make-n-Take, designated vendors set up shop and offered products at a reduced rate or with a special bundle price. One of the vendors offered such a great deal, I purchased my Misti that night along with the cleaning solution. It is WONDERFUL! You can check out the Mist at www.mysweetpetunia.com.

I, also, purchased that night some items from Queen and Company.  On a previous post I featured their make-n-take shaker card. Along with making the card, we had extra epoxy and sequin embellishments left over, enough to complete several more card or scrapbook page projects.

They offered a special on shaker card component purchases. I chose a zig-zag die which came with two foam shaker pre-cut card components. These are awesome. All you have to do is pull the adhesive off the backside of the shaker component and adhere it to your card. You can add embellishments or if the design allows, you could stamp images on the card stock before placing the foam. Next, you remove the adhesive from the front of the foam and place the window sheet (acetate) on top. Once this is completed, you apply adhesive to a pre-cut piece of thicker than regular cardstock and place it on top of the window sheet to finish the project. The cost for these complete kits minus the embellishments runs around $3.00. Instead of purchasing the shaker card components by themselves, I purchased a bundle which included the die. The die allows to me create as many cards as I would like. One way is to purchase “fun foam” sheets from a craft store. I was able to find some with adhesive on one side, and I purchased mine from Michael’s with a 50% off coupon. You would need to cut approximately three sheets of foam to have enough height to allow the embellishments to move around and shake.

We received during the Mega Make-n-Take some adhesives and rhinestone embellishments. I cannot remember who supplied them, but it was a great freebie.

It’s Cheaper Than Therapy gave each make-n-take attendee a FREE embossing folder. My folder is Christmas themed.

The next two days after the Mega Make-n-Take are designated workshop and shopping days at Scrapbook Expo. Most of the workshops offer free products when you take a vendor’s workshop. Heartfelt Creations offered a free stamp set up to a $19.95 value for each of their workshops. I took two workshops with them; therefore, I received two stamp sets.

There are various vendors in the exhibit hall offering free make-n-takes as well as make-n-takes with a nominal charge. I had been looking forward to Fun Stampers Journey exhibit all year. We had to wait about 30 minutes for a seat to come available, but it was worth it. We made a cute card and received a stamp set for FREE! I have pictured the make-n-take card along with an extra design they offered. I made that card for my make-n-take class.

After making the shaker card the night before at the make-n-take, I wanted to purchase some sequins, but I didn’t want to spend a lot of money. I stopped by the Tall Mouse booth www.cre8tiveartz.com and purchased a selection of sequins along with some rhinestones all under $20.00.

After a wonderful experience with Heartfelt Creations and their flower shaping class, I went by a booth that offers 3D dies for flowering creations. I wanted a hydrangea die and Elizabeth Craft Designs had one. I had my friend, Debbie, go back the next day and purchase the flower shaping tool kit.

Last but not least, Debbie went back to the Heartfelt Creations booth and purchased the Berry Cafe 12×12 paper pack (not pictured). All in all I had a great time and came away with some great products and new papercrafting skills. Next year, I plan on taking more workshops and attending the exhibit hall two days in a row. We didn’t have time to stop at all the booths to compare prices and purchase more crafting supplies. I hope you enjoy this post.

Friday, at Scrapbook Expo 2016, Cheyenne and I had a class with Heartfelt Creations. It was Flower Shaping 101. Cheyenne and I have wanted to learn how to make 3D flowers since visiting Heartfelt Creations booth last year. This class was awesome. We made four flowers.

I think my flowers came out really well.

Our second and final class was Hearfelt Creations Sparkling Poinsettia Class. We made three gorgeous cards. This class was definitely fast paced and we barely finished in time.

Here are the cards we made in class:

I plan on saving money each month to take more workshops; especially the Heartfelt Creation workshops. In addition to making wonderful samples and cards, we could pick out for each workshop a FREE stamp set up to a $19.99 value. Here are the stamps I chose. I would have the 12X12 paper stack I purchased (Berry Cafe), but I think I put it in Cheyenne’s bag of Heartfelt Creation haul after we made our Bee Hive Card.

I will be posting either today or tomorrow the cards Cheyenne and I made with her haul of Heartfelt Creation products.

Fab Friday’s current challenge is a Color Challenge. Here are the colors:

Fab Friday 96 Color Challenge

Since Mother’s Day is just around the corner, I decided to create a Mother’s Day card using Fab Friday’s color challenge.
I chose SU! Painted Petals and SU! Perpetual Birthday Calendar to create this card. I think this unique color combination turned out well. This will definitely be a wonderful card to receive on that special day! I tried to get the best picture I could, but it does not do the card justice. I had used the hexagon metal die as a mask to add a little Hello Honey to the background and in person, it looks good. But, in the picture it looks like a dirt smudge. I added some bling

Enjoy!

I am so excited to have made the top three in SUO Challenge #129.  I love the new Holiday Mini-Catalog and I LOVED showing of the new window die with a window scene.

SUO #129

I know anyone that purchases this die set along with the stamp set will be totally in love with them both. I have seen so many great cards on Pinterest using this bundle, which has spurred my imagination. I can’t wait to make Christmas cards with this set along with some of the new Christmas sets from the Holiday Mini-Catalog. Click on the picture below to go to my web-site to order this awesome bundle.

I posted about being MIA while working on 250 wedding invitations for a friend of my daughter. Once I was finished with that project, we went on vacation in Branson, MO. What a long ride from the ATL (13-14 hours when traveling with a three year old)! We met up with family and had a great time visiting and seeing some of the nieces and nephews for the first time.

When we got back to Georgia late Thursday night, we were all exhausted from the trip back and we (me, my husband, and our daughter’s family) laid around on Friday trying to re-energize. Saturday, we began to get things back in order and my husband and I feeling as though we were still on vacation went to a movie. When we got back, our daughter informed us the Air Conditioning had GONE out! WHAT!!! Why do these things happen on the weekend???? Well, this was just dandy. I keep the house at a nice 68 to 70 degrees during the day and a nice cold temp of 64 to 65 at night. Yes, I’m of that age where I stay hot most of the time and I wake up in the middle of the night burning up (no night sweats), sure that someone has messed with the thermostat and set it at 70 degrees (yes, I have gotten up many a night with my handy-dandy cell phone flashlight to double-check the house temperature; only to find the house is 65 degrees – just where I had set it before bed). It has been quite a survival feat to make it through to today, Monday. The phone call is in and the HVAC repair company will be here between 1 and 5. I’ll be as excited to see the repairman as I am the UPS driver making a SU! delivery!!!

Now, on Sunday as I was leaving the house to go and pick up a box fan from my friend, Cheyenne, my husband and daughter mentioned we had a water leak in the yard. When it rains it pours! My husband checked out the water meter while I stood by and supervised LOL. He had to shut off the water and take a jar and get the water out of the hole in the ground before we, oh I guess I should have said he, could determine the source of the leak. Thank goodness it was between the meter and the road; therefore, the county will fix the leak with no cost to us, and it looked as though the leak was not affecting our water consumption. Someone from the county water department should be out sometime today to check out the leak.

All of this dialog was to say, I’ll be getting back on track with card challenges and posts. In fact, I’ll be posting a challenge this morning as soon as my camera’s battery recharge.

Have a great week!

TGIF Challenge C01 came along just in time. I had planned a design for another card challenge website featuring a Mother’s Day card with a color palette combo I had found on Pinterest. As I browsed through different demonstrator websites and other card challenges, I came across the TGIF Color Challenge. I was excited to change my color palette and  include the TGIF Color Combo on my Mother’s Day card.

The card turned out so much better than I had anticipated. I think the Peachy Keen SU! stamp set and the TGIF color challenge work well together. Thanks so much for opening up TGIF Challenges!
