For this month’s blog hop, the design team are sharing our favorite die or die set.

I had quite the dilemma and here is a picture of it.

I tried really hard to narrow down my favorite to one die or die set and I just couldn’t do it. So, I decided to make two projects using as many of my dies as I could.

The first project is a St. Patrick’s Day themed card.

I began with the Lotsa Dots and Journey Circle Dies. The small heart is part of a retired set, but any small heart can be used to create a four-leaf clover.

I die cut the Lotsa Dots and heart dies using Electric Lime cardstock. Kiwi Slice and Lemongrass cardstocks were used with the Journey Circle dies.

Once the Lotsa Dots mat was adhered to the Lemongrass base, I wrapped the Gold Thread three times around the card and tied it in a knot. The large circle is popped up with two medium foam squares on top of the knotted thread. I stamped the sentiment using Black Licorice ink from the All Year Long stamp set onto the small Lemongrass circle. Finally, the Electric Lime hearts were glued to the large circle and accented with a green Rainbow Drop.

The second project is a sweet floral card.

For the flower, I used the Clover Bloom die set using Bubble Gum and Black Licorice cardstocks.

For the leaves, I used the Mystic Fern and Summer Branch dies using Fresh Forest and Electric Lime cardstocks.

The last die I used is Persian Garden with Catalina Splash cardstock.

To create this card, I did a little something different. Instead of adhering the Persian Garden die cut directly to the Pool Play card base, I adhered it to a 5 1/2″ x 4 1/4″ piece of Pool Party cardstock. Next, I wrapped the Special Day Organza Ribbon around this mat tying it in a simple knot. I adhered the Persian Garden mat to the Pool Party base.

To create the flower, I cut two of each petal and curled the petals using my crease tool. I adhered two of the largest petals together, offsetting them so the petals were not exactly aligned. Next, I layered one medium petal and a smaller one on top of it. The fringed center piece was cut from Black Licorice giving the flower a nice contrast between the pink and black. A small Candy Drop was applied to the center

The leaves were layered onto the base and the flower glued on top of them.

It is Day 3 of the FSJ + Spellbinders launch. So many awesome products and so many ways to bring paper to life!
I decided to do something a little different than a regular A2 size card.

Today’s inspiration showcases Spellbinders Gingerbread Boy Garland Tag and Recipe Card set by Sharyn Sowell.
I featured a 6 x 6 recipe card because they hold a special place in my heart. For over 10 years, I held a Christmas In The Woods Stamp Camp, each participant created a 6 x 6 recipe card swap and made the dish featured on the swap. So many wonderful dishes were enjoyed over the years. I still have every swap safely stored in 6 x 6 scrapbook albums.

Here are the stamps and dies I used on this project:

There are no special techniques used to create this project, just die cutting and a little stamping. Cardstock used on the Gingerbread Boy are Pumpkin Bread, Whip Cream, Bubble Gum and Black Licorice with the edges of the “boy” sponged with Pumpkin Bread Fusion adding depth to the die cut figure. The Candy Apple rick-a-rack mat has a Butter Cream mat with Hazelnut Blend stamped lines. The sentiment “Baked With Love” is stamped first with Pumpkin Bread Fusion Ink and then offset slightly and stamped with Hazelnut Blend Ink. The absolutely adorable rolling pin is cut from Turbo Teal cardstock with a Candy Apple red flower and Electric Lime leaves. I adhered a double bow from the Beach Breeze Twine onto the rick-a-rack mat. All die cuts are popped out with medium Foam Squares. The mat dimensions are 5″ x 5″ Hazelnut Blend mat, 5 1/8″ x 5 1/8″ Oatmeal Cookie mat and a
5 7/8″ x 5 7/8″ Candy Apple base mat.

I hope this inspires you to create recipe cards to give to family and friends or to start your own recipe album.

If there is one stamp set and die that I truly love, it is the Make A Wish stamp and die bundle! In fact, I love it so much it is my August Featured “A” Team Bundle. To bring in this featured stamp set, I wanted to showcase it as a blue and bow tie birthday card on Freshly Made Sketches #347 card challenge.

I turned the design to landscape position and went to work. If you are a paper crafter that likes quick, simple and clean creations, this card is for you! I began with a base of FSJ Whip Cream card stock with two base mats of Denim Days (5 3/8″ x 4 1/8″) and Through the Year Prints 12 x 12 paper (5 1/4″ x 4″). Using the same Denim Days card stock I cut a mat out of our circle dies and a circle out of Through the Years Prints. The square accent is cut from Huckleberry Fusion (2 1/2″ x 2 1/2″). The Make A Wish sentiment is stamped with Black Licorice onto Pool Play card stock using my MISTI to create a fully stamped image and then die cut with the coordinating die using our Amaze die cutting machine. Make A Wish is popped up with Medium Foam squares and Journey Glaze makes the words pop off the card stock. The final accent are the Fashion Silver accents.

So quick, so easy, so cute!

Have you every wanted a simple, versatile stamp and die set that can become whatever you want it to be? Well, let me introduce the Make A Wish ATC stamp set with coordinating die. What a great way to bring in the New Year, a special person’s Birthday, a great gift tag on a PRESENT, a CAKE TOPPER, . . .  I can go on and on!!!

This post will feature a bright and cheery birthday card as one of the card challenge entries on Paper Craft Crew Sketch Challenge #298. Here is the featured sketch challenge:

This card was so quick and simple to make. I started out with a Watermelon Fusion card base; then, placed a Tangerine Fusion mat on top. The designer paper (I hate to admit is retired – but, Colorful Journey or Playful Prints  will work – see supplies) has a rectangle shape cut from the middle using one of the Journey Rectangle dies. The Tangerine Fusion frame is next and it is popped up using Small Foam Squares.

TIP: Use the same rectangle die to cut out the middle portion of the designer paper as well as the center portion of the Tangerine Fusion cardstock to create the frame. This will allow your layers to line up easily.

The Make A Wish sentiment is stamped onto Pineapple Smoothie cardstock with Tangerine Fusion ink. The sentiment was die cut with the coordinating die and Journey Glaze was added to create a focal point. It is popped up with the Medium Foam Squares to add greater dimension to the card.

TIP: Use a positioning tool like the MISTI to stamp the image multiple times creating a deep, rich, vibrantly colored  sentiment.

The final touches are the Rainbow Drops just below the sentiment and the Tangerine Fusion Gingham ribbon.

One of the FREE gifts from Fun Stampers Journey to each coach in June at convention was the Cottage Bouquet stamp set. I am in love with this set. There are so many beautiful papercrafting project possibilities using this dynamic set of florals not to mention the cute bow and sentiments – did I mention we received the coordinating dies FREE too!

When I saw the Freshly Made Sketch #345, I knew this set would make the perfect card.

Freshly Made Sketches are clean and simple cards. Making sure I kept to this design style, I chose FSJ Whip Cream cardstock for the base. I pulled out one of the stitched designed frames from the Pocket Cuts Die set and cut the initial rectangle. To create a frame, I cut the center of the rectangle out with one of the Journey Rectangles dies using Huckleberry Fusion cardstock. The frame mat is stamped in Pretty Amethyst with the Flannel Life stamp background stamp. I wanted the “amazing” sentiment to create a pop of color and Lavender Fusion cardstock was just the right touch of color to create this affect. The “amazing” die came with a set of dies included when I ordered my Amaze machine. The flowers are stamped on Whip Cream with Black Fusion ink and colored with Pretty Amethyst and Electric Lime ink by dabbing color onto the petals with the small dowel sponge set. The stems are colored with a Color Burst Pencil. I accented the card with Cosmic Grape silk, Rainbow Drops and a triple bow created from our Whip Cream twine.

A simple but amazing floral card:

This is the first card challenge I have posted on The Paper Girls Challenge. The theme is all about Travel/Vacation Fun (challenge #147). I had the perfect “happy CAMPER” card for this challenge.

Many, many Bloom Boxes ago (June 2017 to be exact), Fun Cards was the featured stamp set with six block style stamps. For some reason, I did not finish all my cards for this box. The cardstock and supplies had been sitting in my craft room for almost one year!!!! The original card feature three of the stamps. I featured just the camper stamp on my challenge card. I added some Rainbow Drop accents and Whip Cream Sparkle Tape to give it a little pizzazz and it turned out just so darn cute.

Here is the card:

The card features the following supplies (all supplies are Fun Stampers Journey): Inks – Turbo Teal Fusion Ink (IP-0116), Black Licorice Fusion Ink (IP-0041); Cardstock – Whip Cream (CS-0040), Turbo Teal (CS-0127), Outrageous Pink (CS-0125), Orange Rave (CS-0124), Black Licorice (CS-0003); Silks – Electric Lime (IP-0108) , Outrageous Pink (IP-0109), Orange Rave (IP-0118), Turbo Teal (IP-0119), Sparkle Silk (IP-0126); Dies/Punches – Rectangle Long (DI-0040), This Way Punch Cartridge (TO-0005), Punch Handle (TO-0031); Accessories – Black Licorice Thread (AC-0129), Dauber Dowel (TO-0137 or TO-0138), Rainbow Drops (AC-0178), Whip Cream Sparkle Tape (AC-0258); Adhesives – Craft Glue (AD-0111), Foam Square Medium (AD-0085).

This past weekend I held a class to learn the basic “how-to’s” of creating simple backgrounds with the Fun Stamper’s Journey Gel Press. The class was full, and we had a funtastic time playing and creating some awesome backgrounds for cards.

Since this was a Keep It Sweet and Simple class, I did not feature any stencils or mixed media products. The main focus of our Gel Press fun was using Fun Stampers Journey’s fusion inks, acrylic paints, and liquid colors. In keeping with the simple theme, I chose to create interest in the backgrounds using common craft tools and items found in a papercrafter’s stash. This included paper cut with heart dies, a balloon die, a fern die, and a leaf die. We used the bottom of the Journey Glaze to create circles on the Gel Press (remember don’t use anything sharp, it will pierce the gel). Creativity is unlimited with this amazing product.

As you know Valentine’s Day is just around the corner, and the FSJ Bloom This Way trend catalog has the most adorable Host Exclusive stamp set with coordinating die called Bug Love (SS-0535 and DI-0393); therefore, the featured background for this class was hearts.  I couldn’t help but make a card using this set with the third background pull I created from the Gel Press. I used the FSJ Sweet Berry Splash in a Media Mister along with a Media Mister filled with water, some die cut hearts, FSJ Gel Medium, FSJ sequins, and several pieces of white cardstock cut down to 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ (if you would like to purchase any of the supplies featured in this post, go to www.funstampersjourney.com/martymcgee).

Here is my “Cute As A Bug” card:

It’s so darn cute, I decided to enter it into the Paper Craft Crew Challenge #276. This week’s challenge is a color challenge:

Prior to the Gel Press class, I had created some background pulls to make samples for the class showing the versatility and uniqueness of backgrounds created using the Gel Press. Some of the pulls were just plain ugly; but, my number one rule of using the Gel Press is . . . . . Keep your mind open to making beautiful from the impossible.

Here are the cards I created with the various Gel Press backgrounds:

I hope this post inspires you to play, create and bring paper to life!

I am so excited to share the NEW Fun Stampers Journey Catalog. I know you will want to have this awesome 2017-2018 Inspiration Book & Catalog in your own hands. I cannot brag enough about how creative Richard Garay and the FSJ designers are at creating on-trend and beautiful cards, scrapbook pages, and 3D projects that Wow and Amaze. I have already sat down with my catalog and marked everything I “wish” to purchase in the next year. Well, let’s just say, if I had unlimited funds, I would purchase one of everything in the catalog and some things in multiples.

I have included a link to order the catalog below (click on the picture of the catalog and you will be redirected to the on-line catalog). I hope you enjoy this year’s inspiration as much as I have in the last two weeks.

The theme challenge for Paper Craft Crew #230 is “LOVE”.

I have the perfect card for this theme. It is super cute and adorable. It features a cutie patootie peguin with the sentiment “P.S. i love u.”
This card was created for my Make-It Card Class, and it was a favorite design. The base of the card is FSJ Whip Cream. The background mat was created using FSJ Sweet Berry splash, Cranberry Bliss, Outrageous Pink, and Silver silks. To the background mat, I added a FSJ Bubble Gum pierced circle mat with a FSJ Cranberry Bliss die cut heart splattered with the same silks used on the background mat. The heart is accented with a looping of FSJ Black twine. The penguin is a FSJ P.S. ATS (Artist Trading Stamp). Both images were stamped using FSJ Black Licorice ink onto FSJ Whip Cream cardstock. They were both fussy cut leaving a 1/8″ border around the images. The heart, the penguin, and the sentiment are popped up with FSJ Medium Foam Squares.

This was a quick and simple Wow card creation.
