You know how you purchase a stamp set because it’s so cute; and, then it sits unopened, unused for several months? Well, if you don’t, I do. The stamp set I used today was purchased back in September 2016, and I just pulled it out and used it for the Freshly Made Sketch #276 card challenge. Here is this week’s sketch:

I chose Fun Stampers Journey Hey Honey stamp set to create this simple and quick adorable card. I stamped the images on FSJ Whip Cream cardstock using FSJ Black Licorice ink. I colored the beehive and the bee with FSJ Color Burst Pencils. I used for the hive – 015, 016, 017; hive base – 039 with 040 colored on top; bee – 015, 016, 017 and a touch of gray on the wings and eyes. I added a little glitz to the bee’s wings with FSJ Sparkle Dust. The honeycomb background is stamped using FSJ Lemon Drop ink with the FSJ ATS Honeycomb stamp. The center strip is accented on either side with FSJ Summer Days cardstock. All stamped images are popped up using FSJ Foam Squares (medium and small). The sentiment has a looping of FSJ Black Twine behind it. A great card to make for beginners as well as seasoned card makers.

This project was created using Fun Stampers Journey products. If you would like to purchase any of the supplies listed above click here.

A really great simple and quick card I made was one where I used cards from the Project Life card set. The set I used is a retired set; therefore, I am going to list a current Project Life card set in the supply list.

This is such a clean and simple/quick card I think it fits this week’s TGIF Card Challenge.  Here is their sketch:

Using the Project Life cards for mats and sentiment holders on a card is a great way to introduce stamping to new customers that might be intimidated by more technically challenging cards. This takes away the guess work of color combinations that work and limits initial supplies to a bare minimum. It’s also a great way to make cards for those crafters that already have a full plate.

All I had to do was cut my base, fold in half, cut down the largest project life card to 4″ x 5 1/4″, stamp a sentiment on a coordinating smallest project life card, and adhere all of the cards to the card base. This took all of five minutes, at the most. It will take you longer trying to decide what sentiment to use on the card.

I think this card turned out really well.

Freshly Made Sketches #189 is a great sketch to feature the new Stampin’ Up! In-Colors along with the new Envelope Paper.

FMS Final 189I am having an SU! catalog open house and I wanted a clean and simple card to showcase the new 2015-2017 In-Colors. I used the striped side of the Mint Macaron envelope paper for the circle; then, I stamped the flower from You’ve Got This in Mint Macaron on Whisper White and matted the stamped image askew onto a solid piece of Mint Macaron. I added a sentiment from You’ve Got This in Mint Macaron on a Whisper White banner. Very monochromatic. I plan on using this card sketch and duplicating this card in all of the five new In-Colors as a quick make-n-take at the catalog open-house. I’m sure all of my stampers will LOVE this design as well as the new In-Colors and stamp sets I will be featuring.
