Have you ever heard of a Tic Tac Toe Challenge? If you haven’t, it is a design challenge where the designer chooses three design elements in a row, just like tic-tac-toe. The designer can go vertical, horizontal or diagonal. Once the choice is made, the design work begins. Here is Paper Craft Crew #301 design challenge for this week:

I chose the first vertical row, which included bundled products, metallic and favorite color. If you have been keeping up with my blog, Facebook and Instagram posts, you will know I’m all about the FSJ Make A Wish stamp and die bundle. So many great projects can be created from this one stamp and die. For the metallic design element, I had some Mirror Silver card stock and I grabbed some Watermelon Fusion card stock for my favorite color. Who can’t resist hot pink? I can’t.

The base is Whip Cream with a Limeade Splash base mat and a Through the Year Prints mat adhered on top. I die cut circles from the mirror silver (they look black due to lighting but they do shine in “real” life) and Through the Year Prints card stock along with a small rectangle of Bubble Gum card stock. The sentiment is popped up to create dimension as well as the addition of Fashion Silver embellishments with a couple of Bloom Time sequins. Let’s not forget the lemon sparkle tape and the Journey Glaze on top of the Make A Wish.

Celebrate your birthday with some delicious macarons. This week’s Paper Craft Crew Challenge sketch was a definite challenge for me. Do you have those times where nothing seems to work and/or pull together? Well, this was one of those times. Let me show you the sketch:

I used Whip Cream card stock as a base for my card. The solid mats were cut from Cranberry Bliss. I took out some designer paper and created some fun mats from them. The plate of macarons and the sentiment are from Fun Stamper Journey Let’s Eat Cake stamp set, and they were stamped onto Whip Cream card stock with Cranberry Bliss Fusion ink. The macarons were colored with the Color Burst pencils.

Let me know in the comments whether you like macarons and what color/flavor is your favorite.

I am in the middle of a very hectic schedule and turning my son’s old bedroom into a craft room. The craft room change over has been slow but steady. This transition has hampered my creativity due to my current craft room being a MESS! I’m in the process of determining what must stay, what must go on Ebay or Etsy to be sold, and what can be moved to the new room so far. I still need to get desk tops and Ikea drawers to complete the transition. I will have a blog about this at some point in the near future.

When I saw this week’s Paper Craft Crew Cared Challenge #245, I knew I had the perfect card to meet the tic-tac-toe challenge:

My Bloom Box stampers met this past Monday and made our cards from the kit, BUT I thought they needed a little something more. So, prior to our meet-up, I had ordered the FSJ SS-0078 Summer Garden stamp set along with our new dauber dowels and sponges (TO0137 – small and TO0138 – large). I have a picture of the card from the kit below:

I took the basic card design and added to it along with changing the sentiment to Well Wishes. The initial card consisted of FSJ Butter Cream cardstock base, FSJ Banana Cream mat, and final piece of FSJ Rock Candy. The doilies are the featured stamp set in this month’s Bloom Box kit. They were stamped onto the Rock Candy cardstock using FSJ Butter Cream ink. I think the stamped images turned out wonderfully well. I changed my sentiment to Well Wishes and stamped it onto the pre-cut tag using FSJ Rock Candy ink. I popped it out using FSJ Foam Squares. The flower and leaves were created using a technique Richard Garay shared on one of his Facebook Live tutorials. I took a sponge dauber dowel and picked up some FSJ Rich Coral ink onto the sponge and I applied the ink to my cardstock in a circular motion. I did this same technique using FSJ Sweet Pear and FSJ Lemongrass. I, then, took my stamps and stamped the images onto those sponged areas using FSJ Black Licorice ink. The flower and foliage were adhered using FSJ Medium Foam Squares. For the ribbon accent, I took the button from the kit and applied FSJ Rock Candy ink straight onto the button edges using the ink pad. I adhered a large diamond rhinestone into its center and adhered it to a double bow made from FSJ twine. Once every thing was adhered to the card, I applied FSJ Journey Glaze to the flower and parts of the leaves. I think this card turned out to be very elegant with a pop of color. I almost forgot – last but not least, a sprinkling of FSJ Silver Silk was applied to the card. Bodda-Bling, Bodda-Boom!

Supplies:

All supplies except for the diamond rhinestone (who knows where I got it from – it was just part of my stash and fit exactly into the depressed area of the button) are available through www.funstampersjourney.com/martymcgee. Note: The stamp set is only available with the Bloom Box Kit. It must be purchased before the end of May and then a commitment of purchasing 5 more kits is required.

Whoo hoo, I made top three on Paper Craft Crew Challenge #222. I am super excited about this pick because I used my Fun Stampers Journey, December Bloom Box stamp set Welcome Wreaths to make this card. I absolutely love this stamp set and the kit as well. Here is the winning card.

I wanted to keep everything about this card FSJ, and I did except for the sequins. I just haven’t acquired enough FSJ bling, . . . . . yet.  If you click the picture, you will be redirected to the original post.

I love everything about Fun Stampers Journey and I can’t wait to make more amazing cards using their products.

This past September three friends and I went to the Stamp Scrap Art Tour held in Duluth, GA. Pink and Main was one of the vendors at this show. The owner and illustrator for Pink and Main, Michelle Currie, was at the Friday night make-n-take, and we were able to complete an awesome card, purchase a discounted die set (only available during the make-n-take), and have a great time enjoying her company. We also had the opportunity to see her the next day while shopping for all sorts of goodies. My friend and co-crafter, Cheyenne, purchased their scarecrow stamp set and coordinating dies.

We spent a whole afternoon stamping the scarecrows and coloring them with our Spectrum Noir alcohol markers. We had a great time. Cheyenne ended up putting her card together that evening, but when I am tired I know better than to try to pull together something important. It usually spells disaster. I finally put mine together this weekend. AND, it is gorgeous.

When I saw the Paper Craft Crew #215 challenge today, I knew my Pink and Main Scarecrow card was the perfect match for this challenge. Here is the card challenge:

For our scarecrow card, we stamped the images on Spectrum Noir paper with Tuxedo Black Memento Ink. The images were colored with our Spectrum Noir alcohol markers. See the end of this post for the color combos. Several of the images are raised using black foam. I believe we used Lawn Fawn’s 6×6 plaid paper pack for the printed mat. The blue mat is SU! Bashful Blue (a very retired cardstock), the plaid mat is on FSJ Hazelnut cardstock and the base is a SU! paper (Cheyenne’s paper wasn’t listed but I think FSJ Orange Rave or Tangerine Fusion would work really well). The mini-clothes pin and twine are from Fun Stampers Journey (FSJ). Here is the card:

Spectrum Noir Color Combos (the ones I wrote down):

Jeans – TB5, TB2, TB4, GG1
Corn – CT1, GB9, GB6
Straw – CT4, GB6
Hat – Fl Yellow, TN3, FS1 and Color Burst pencils for crosshatch texture
Pumpkins – CT1, OR2, OR3
Corn stalks – can’t remember the lighter green but I did palette blending with the lighter one and DG3

Supplies:

Pink and Main – Scarecrows and dies, stitched rectangular (rounded corner) dies
Lawn Fawn – plaid paper stack
FSJ – Tangerine Fusion, Hazelnut cardstocks, Color Burst Pencils, twine, clothes pin
Inks and Markers – Memento Black, Spectrum Noir alcohol markers
Misc – Black Fun Foam sheets, fence die (bought a long time ago from My Favorite Things)

If you have been reading my blog posts recently, it is very apparent I’m hooked on the Spectrum Noir alcohol markers. I just LOVE them and the awesome results I get from using them on my card projects. This week’s Paper Craft Crew Card Sketch #207 inspired me to make a card out of C.C. Designs – Chameleon (You Color My World!) rubber stamp. I purchased this stamp through Impressive Ideas stamp store in Norcross, GA. Here is this week’s sketch:

He is trying to camouflage himself amongst the bright yellow, orange, pink background of the card mat. He’s just too darn cute. The base of the card is SU! Tangelo Twist card stock. The bottom mat was created from a piece of SU! Whisper White cardstock using SU! Daffodil Delight and SU! Tangelo Twist a sponge dauber and SU! Happy Patterns Decorative Masks. The top mat was created using SU! Whisper White cardstock and distressing the cardstock with Tim Holtz Picked Raspberry and Spiced Marmalade inks. I squirted the paper with some water and blotted it dry and then allowed the mat to sit and dry completely before adhering all the elements. The square scalloped frame in the left hand, bottom corner is from SU! Layering Squares Framelits using Glitter Cardstock Matstack purchased from Hobby Lobby. I gave the card a little sparkle and glitz by gluing some Craft Medley sequins to the card. The gold twine, wooden heart, and washi tape are all from Stampin’ Up!. Note: The wooden heart was colored using the Spectrum Noir marker BP4 and then covered with Crystal Effects.

The chameleon was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Ink and colored using Spectrum Noir Markers. Here is the list of markers I used: LV1, CT4, OR1, OR3, CR10, CG3, GB7, TN7, CR6, CR7, CR11. I added SU! dimensionals under him to add depth and dimension to the card. I just love him. He’s sending everyone hugs and kisses!
