A friend of mine took me to a stamp store, Impressive Ideas, in Norcross, GA. It is like a candy shop. All the stamps and accessories I’ve seen used on YouTube videos and various rubber stamping websites were all in one place! I really didn’t need anything, but ……. I just couldn’t pass up the blow fish blowing out candles on a birthday cake (Art Impressions – unmounted ZooCrew Deep Breath Birthday – 4471); so, I bought it along with a few other things and then….. I went back to the Dienamics aisle and picked up two dies (the stitched rectangles and the rolling hills). There went my budget of not spending anything on stamps until I have a few more make-n-take classes. LOL

Anyway, a girl in my small group from church had a birthday the next week. I thought this would make a great card to give her from the group. I pulled out scraps to make the card along with my Blendabilities and came up with this.

Enjoy!

Thanks for coming back for the details if you got my initial post. For some reason, I am always under the wire getting my PPA card challenge completed and submitted by the time deadline of 12 noon on Tuesdays. Thus, I didn’t have time to give any details on the project until I got the card submitted right on time.

I had originally wanted to us the SU! stamp set Wood You Be Mine?, but I couldn’t pull the card together in my mind’s eye. Then, I thought of the retired SU! stamp set Seaside. I layered the shells from this stamp set using a mask and, quite by accident, I made a stamped image from a newly inked pad where the ink had not settled into the pad of the large conch shell. I had already stamped initial image and I cut out the darker portions of the over inked image and layered it on top of the original image. I made a double layered mat from Marina Mist card stock layered on Sahara Sand card stock and stamped coral as a back drop for the fish from By The Tide which was stamped with Early Espresso onto Pool Party card stock and highlighted with Stampin’ Write markers. The shells, fish, and sentiment (“Happy Birthday” – Sprinkles of Life SU! stamp set) are raised with SU! dimensionals.
