I know I can’t say enough about how much I love being a coach with Fun Stampers Journey. I particularly love their catalogs which feature amazing card and project ideas. This year for Christmas inspiration, I went straight to the catalogs for some card ideas. I re-imagined or Case’d card ideas straight from our catalogs and some from our group of wonderful coaches.

The first card featured is the Fresh Forest stamp set (SS-0487 or the bundle BD-0271) and Holiday Wishes (SS-0469). I gained inspiration from the card featured on page 56 of our main Inspiration Catalog. Since my group of stampers would be creating a lot of cards in one class, I wanted to make sure most of the cards were easy to recreate. I created a remixed version below.

I used FSJ Whip Cream (CS-0040) as a base and the main piece of cardstock used for stamping. I stamped the Merry Christmas and two of the smaller trees with FSJ Beach Breeze fusion ink (IP-0044). The rest of the trees I used FSJ Lemon Grass fusion ink IP-0022). The shadowed affect behind the trees is created using one of the smaller trees stamped using FSJ Sweet Pear fusion ink (IP-0054). To create the snowy hills, I masked the lower portion of the card with a curvy piece of cardstock. This kept the bottom of the trees from making an ink impression and created the illusion of snow banks and smaller trees stamped with the same stamp. The flecks of blue on the card was created using FSJ Beach Ball acrylic paint (JM-0102) thinned down with water and flicked onto the card with a paint brush. The stamped piece of cardstock was adhered to a mat from FSJ Beach Breeze cardstock (CS-0088). The card was accented with Special Day Organza Ribbon (AC-0316) and Silver Tinsel (AC-0341). Last but not least is a strip of Silver Sparkle Tape (AC-0259). Super Cute, Super Easy, Wow!

I feel in love with this next card, and I Case’d straight out of the catalog. I mentioned to Rose Curtis on FSJ Coach Connection Facebook Page; if I create a card way in advance of a class, I should make another sample of the card the night before the class so I can remember how I made it. I really had those ladies at this class working really hard to complete the textured snowflake. I helped one of the attendees with her stenciled image, and I thought, “I don’t remember this card being this hard to make.” Well, when I got home, I happened to look at the directions in the catalog and yes, I wanted to beat my head against the wall. I can really make something very simple, very complicated. LOL

You can get the directions for this card by viewing the Journey Holiday catalog on-line (click here). Note: The sentiment was stamped from the Hostess Exclusive Night Star stamp set (SS-0518) – I cut off the Joyful portion because it was too long. I used the following cardstock: Cranberry Bliss (CS-0090), Black Licorice (CS-0003), Whip Cream (CS-0040), and the Christmas Cheer Prints (PP-0049). The snowflake mask was created using the Snow Blooms die set (DI-0253). Other supplies needed were Journey Gesso (JM-0072) – Note: the catalog references Journey Modeling Paste (JM-0073), but I didn’t have any and the Gesso worked just fine, a Spatula (TO-0089), Special Day Organza Ribbon (AC-0316) and Silver Tinsel (AC-0341).

I had the Black Licorice snowflake mask left over from creating the previous card (the catalog suggest using chip board, but I didn’t have any; therefore, the Black Licorice snowflake). I was thinking how could I use this instead of throwing it away and I saw the card idea featured on page 40 of the Journey Holidays catalog and decided to re-imagine this card idea. Here is my version below:

The base of this card is FSJ Whip Cream cardstock (CS-0040). I cut two mats from the Christmas Cheer Prints 12×12 paper (PP-0049). I must mention the Christmas Cheer Prints (PP-0049) contains 24 12×12 sheets, 4 each of 6 two-sided designs! What a deal. I cut two more large snowflakes from the Snow Blooms (DI-0253) out of Whip Cream cardstock (CS-0040). I glued the white together and the black one on top of the two white snowflakes. I added sparkle to the snowflake with FSJ Sparkle Dust (AC-0151). I die-cut the smallest snowflake out of Whip Cream cardstock, applied Silver Pan Pastel to it and adhered it to the other larger snowflakes. I accented the snowflake with a large Sparkle Drop (AC-0022). The sentiment was stamped using Black Licorice fusion ink (IP-0041) onto Whip Cream cardstock and Candy Apple cardstock (CS-0007). I added some interest and dimension to the card by die-cutting the Bloom Cluster (DI-0163) from Journey Brush Silver (CS-0135). The final accent is a Fashion Silver (AC-0293) drop of goodness. This is my favorite card!

If you are looking to create a super simple, super quick, quick, quick card for a mass mailing of Christmas Cheer, this is your card.

I was inspired by the card featured on page 41 of the Journey Holidays catalog. I took the word stamps from the Holiday Wishes stamp set (SS-0469) and placed them on one clear block. This made stamping the sentiment in Black Licorice fusion ink (IP-0041) onto the Whip Cream cardstock (CS-0040) really easy. The green bows were stamped using FSJ Lemongrass Fusion ink (IP0022). The bows and curly swirls were stamped using Candy Apple fusion ink (IP-0017). I used Fashion Silver (AC-0293) accents on the bows. The red dots are not FSJ because I did not have my most wonder Rainbow Drops (AC-0178), yet (they will arrive today) and I had to make due. The mats included the following cardstocks – Candy Apple cardstock (CS-0007), Limeade Splash cardstock (CS-0020), and the Christmas Cheer prints (PP-0049). There is a splash of Sparkle Silk (IP-0126) to finish it off.

The next beautiful card was Case’d straight from another coach Marcie Besecker. I tweaked it a little bit for my Christmas Buffet Make-It class. Here is my version below:

The tweaks were: Star of Wonder sentiment is stamped onto the embossed mat with Huckleberry Fusion ink (IP-0035), Silver Tinsel (AC-0341) instead of the Gold Tinsel (AC-0340), triple bow instead of a double bow from the Special Day Organza Ribbon (AC-0316), a large star with a medium star instead of two medium stars, and a Huckleberry Fusion cardstock base mat (CS-0015). The stamp set for this card is the Night Start (SS-0518) from the Journey Holidays catalog.

The next card I cannot find my inspiration for this layout, but I know I looked at something to create this because of the tree. This is what I get for not making notes as I create (like that will ever happen – once I get going, I’m off and running, no time to slow down and write down any notes). Anywhoo, I love this stamp set Snowmen Days (SS-0519) from the Journey Holidays catalog. I must have a snowman card every year for my Christmas card classes and this set was too cute to pass up.

The base and all cardstock used for stamping is FSJ Whip Cream cardstock (CS-0040). The snowmen were stamped using Black Licorice Fusion Ink (IP-0041), the tree was stamped using Lemongrass fusion ink (IP-0022) with some Fresh Forest fusion ink (IP-0013) barely stamped onto the stamp down the middle. The tree was die-cut with a die from the Fresh Forest Bundle (BD-0271 found on page 86 of the Inspiration catalog. The oval mat was pierced and die-cut using the Journey Ovals (DI-0042). The background is sponged onto the oval using Pool Play and Beach Breeze fusion inks (IP-0051 and IP-0044). The base mat is cut from Denim Days cardstock (CS-0113) and embossed with the $100 level Bloom Benefit Love Letter Embossing Folder (EF-0025) NOTE: It’s free with a $100 purchase!! I turned the embossed piece of cardstock upside down (the de-bossed side) and using a little water to make the Journey Gesso (JM-0072) move easier, I smeared and rubbed the Gesso over the entire mat leaving a few places untouched. The snowmen were colored using the Journey Color Burst Pencils (JM-0077). The final touch was a piece of Silver Sparkle Tape (AC-0259). Love it!

These are all the cards I came up with using inspiration from other sources. I hope this gets your creative juices flowing. Fun Stampers Journey provides amazing card, scrapbook, and project ideas throughout both their catalogs. As a Journey Coach, I have access to a private Facebook page for Coaches only where we all share our ideas and encourage each other in our journey.

Last week I received my Fun Stampers Journey order and in that order was my new 8 1/2 x 11 FSJ Gel Press. Yes, Fun Stampers Journey has joined up with Gel Press to offer an exclusive to FSJ 8 1/2 x 11 Gel Press. It is so much fun! I love it!

This past Saturday I was demonstrating to a couple of my class attendees how you can create awesomely unique paper for card making. I played around with FSJ Limeade Splash and Pineapple Smoothie Acrylic paints along with the Starburst Lines stencil on the Gel Press. I made quite a few different designs with acrylic paint, splashes, and the Fusion ink pads. Once I had finished, I set them aside to use later.

That being said, I looked at the Freshly Made Sketches Challenge 301 and decided one of those designs would make a clean card. Here is the sketch:

For the designed piece on my card, I took the design I created with the FSJ Limeade Splash (JM-0101) and Pineapple Smoothie (JM-0023) acrylic paints. To create this design, I placed several small dots of each color onto the Gel Press (JM-0107) and using my brayer (TO-0087), I tapped across them lighting to create a solid layer, BUT not blended enough to loose each separate color. I placed my FSJ Starburst Stencil (JM-0007) onto the paint then placed a piece of 5 1/4″ x 4″ FSJ Whip Cream card stock (CS-0040) and rubbed my hand across the back making sure to press firmly down so the card stock would pick up the paint between the plastic of the stencil. I pulled it off and there you go. It was just that easy. You can then pull the stencil up and get another impression off of the Gel Press. I made some flowers from the FSJ Summer Pretties punch (TO-0007) using left over impressions of this design. To accent the flowers I placed FSJ Fashion Gold (AC-0292) embellishments in their centers. The sentiment is from FSJ Punny Punny stamp set (SS-0421). A thin strip of FSJ Whip Cream card stock is showing below the designed paper. All of this is adhered to FSJ Electric Lime card stock (CS-0123).

I am really super excited about the August Bloom Box. I LOVE the Comic theme designs Fun Stampers Journey designers put together for this card kit. It is fun, on trend, exciting, and youthful. One of the card design features a 3D effect. I even bought some 3D glasses to give to each of my Bloom Box purchasers this month. Here are the card designs with this month’s kit:

For those of you who are new to the Fun Stampers Journey Bloom Box card kits. Here’s the scoop. This month’s FSJ promotion is 20% off their selection of Fusion Inks (excluding gold, silver, and clear pigment ink pads and ink pad bundles).

One of my favorite products with Fun Stampers Journey are their Fusion Inks. These inks are considered a hybrid ink. They provide vibrant colors with the quality of pigment inks and the fast drying quality of dye inks. Since the True Color Fusion Inks are fade resistant, archival, and acid free, these inks are great for stamping cards, 3D projects, and scrapbooking. Some of my favorite colors are Candy Apple Red, Hazelnut Blend, and Rich Coral.

Go to www.funstampersjourney.com/martymcgee to purchase one, two, or more of these amazing ink pads.

This week’s Paper Craft Crew Challenge is a color challenge using the following colors:

I received this stamp set in my July 2017 Bloom Box Kit.

I fell in love with these adorable mermaids the moment the first images came out for this kit. I wanted to make a card that gave the feel of the ocean and the playfulness of the mermaids. I began with a base of FSJ Cool Pool cardstock. Both of the mats are Cool Pool cardstock as well. I took the smaller mat and embossed in white the retired FSJ background stamp Catching Waves. I cut out across the edge of one of the waves. To create the watery effect on both mats. I used my FSJ splashes (Blue Lagoon, Electric Lime, and Cool Pool). I gave each of the mats a good spray from each of the colors and moved the cardstock around to allow the different spalshes to blend together. I blotted excess liquid with a baby wipe. It took a good while for the mats to dry (I must have really saturated them. The next step was to stamp the mermaids and color them. I stamped them with FSJ Black Licorice ink onto FSJ Whip Cream cardstock. I colored them with my FSJ Color Splash watercolor pencils. The sentiment was stamped onto Whip Cream cardstock with the Black Licorice ink as well. I fussy cut the mermaids and the sentiment. Once the mats were dry, I contructed the card. The cut off the bottom of the first mat and with the extra piece I cut reversed scallops to create a wave. I adhered the base mat with FSJ White Liner Tape (this is the best adhesive for cardstock that has been wet and dried with the edges pulling up. I placed the liner tape on every edge so the panel would bend. The extra piece of cut cardstock was adhered next. The embossed mat was adhered with White Liner Tape around the edges. By only adhering to the outside edges I created a pocket for my diving mermaid. Before I adhered the sentiment and mermaids I used FSJ Sparkle Silk to sprinkle a little glitz and glamour to the card. The mermaids and the sentiment were popped out using FSJ medium Foam Squares. Before placing the sentiment onto the card, I looped some FSJ Twine onto the base mat where the sentiment would be placed.

I really love this card, and I hope you do to.

Fun Stampers Journey is providing an amazing opportunity for its coaches to submit their projects in hopes of being given the honor of participating on the Designer Showcase team for the coming catalog year. The chosen designers will have their work showcased at FSJ events throughout the year. This means the design team will receive selected product before product launch to bring to life amazing projects that will inspire others to create.

Any FSJ coach can submit 2 cards and 1 scrapbook page. Once all entries are in by July 10th, Richard and the FSJ Crew will select 20 coaches to move on to the final selection (I don’t know how many are in the final selection). I have worked the last week on my projects. I wanted to share them with my readers the day I submit them to Fun Stampers Journey.

The first card is a birthday card featuring the following ATS sets AT-0156 Felicidades with the Mariachi trumpet player and AT-0195 Bday Banner. The base of the card is FSJ CS-0123 Electric Lime cardstock, the first mat is FSJ CS-0007 Candy Apple cardstock, and the final mat is FSJ CS-0042 Summer Days cardstock. To create the amazing background on the Summer Days cardstock, I took FSJ IP-0113 Orange Rave ink and applied the ink pad to the cardstock with a technique we learned from one of our Bloom Box kits (a sunburst effect is created). Then, I just had to flick as many FSJ silks as I thought reasonible (orange rave IP-0118, electric lime IP-0108, gold ip-0096, sour lemon IP-0110). The pierced open circle was in my scraps of Summer Days cardstock having been left over from a previous project. I started to make a shaker card but I didn’t want anything to disctract from the adorable Mariachi player. I remembered, when we were at the Orlando event, we made a card featuring a star with a sparkle cut center. I created the same thing but with the circle. I adhered a circle of acetate behind the open pierced Summer Days circle (DI-0039 Journey Circles); I took Journey Glaze and placed all over the acetate; then, I sprinkled FSJ AC-0151 Sparkle Cuts over the glaze and rubbed it into the glaze. I set it aside to dry. This technique just makes the card. I cut one end off the cirlce and placed them diagonally across from each other directly onto the background mat. I colored the Mariachi player and the banner with Journey Color Burst Pencils JM-0077. I accented the banner and the trumpet (after I sprinkled Journey Sparkle Dust AC-0013 onto the trumpet) with Journey Glaze AD-0002 4 oz. The banner and the Mariachi player were popped out using FSJ AD-0085 Medium Foam Squares. The final accent were a scattering of Lavender Candy Minis AC-0135. Oops, almost forgot the Sparkle Dust on the rim of the hat, seam of the pants, and the belt buckle. So cute, so adorable. Love it! It just a gorjamust-have card.

My second card is a quick and simple (very easy card) to bring to life. I started with a base of FSJ CS-0093 Rich Coral cardstock. I love this color. It is a bright red with a hint of orange. The first mat is made using FSJ CS-0003 Black Licorice cardstock. The background base and the raised smaller mat with the sentiment were created using the following: FSJ CS-0040 Whip Cream cardstock, FSJ IP-0114 Outrageous Pink ink, FSJ IP-0052 Rich Coral ink, FSJ IP-0043 Lemon Drop ink, FSJ IP-0042 Summer Days ink, FSJ IP-0041 Black Licorice ink, FSJ Dauber Dowel Large TO-0138, FSJ AC-0004 Journey Black Twine, FSJ AC-0022 Sparkle Drops, FSJ AD-0085 Medium Foam Squares, and FSJ AT-0146 Dreams ATS and last but not least FSJ SS-0454 Flower Swirls.

To begin the background process, I rubbed Outrageous Pink ink and Lemon Drop ink onto the Whip Cream cardstock with the Dauber Dowels. I added a touch of Rich Coral ink to the centers of the Outrageous Pink areas of color. I then took the various sizes of floral blooms from the Flower Swirls stamp set and stamped them onto the swirls of color using Rich Coral and Summer Days ink on the corresponding shade of color. The sentiment was stamped with Black Licorice ink (I used my Misti to stamp the sentiment several times so the black wording would pop). The finishing touch is the triple bow from the Black Twine accented with a Sparkle Drop. The sentiment mat is popped out with medium foam squares.

The last project is an 8′ x 6″ scrapbook page. I love the stamp set FSJ SS-0312 Hit The Road. I wanted to create a page featuring this stamp set based around Route 66 out in the Southwest part of our great nation. I knew my friend, Patsy Benson, had vacationed in that area; so, I called her up and asked if she had some pictures I could use. She said yes and I planned a day to drive over and look through her pictures to find the perfect one for my page. Before I went over to her house, I planned out my page. It started off with an 8″ x 6″ piece of Oatmeal Cookie that I distressed with Hazelnut Blend and Buttercream inks. I used a the FSJ SS-0438 Create a Dot background stamp for some interest on the background. I stamped and embossed in white trucks, signs, words in both Black Licorice and Hazelnut Blend cardstocks (I truly wish I had the new cactus stamp set; but alas, I did not). I wasn’t sure what would look great for the picture(s) I chose; therefore, the double color selection of stamped items.

Well, I got there and started looking at the pictures. I knew I wanted a desert/grand canyon type backdrop, and I found the perfect picture. As we were deciding what truck color looked the best on the page, I asked Patsy if there were any Route 66 pictures. She said yes, and we eventually found them. In one of the pictures, an antique convertible was parked at an old-timey gas station, which had multiple route 66 signs in the plate glass windows. As I looked at the convertible, I said, “EEeew (in a good way), what if I cut this convertible out and it looks like it’s driving off the page.” Once I get an inspiration, I’m off and running. Sort of like the Edward Scissor Hands of card making (there is a disaster all around where I was working, but the final outcome is very satisfying). I cut out the convertible and laid it on top of the picture in the right hand bottom corner. Then, I remembered seeing a picture featuring a succulent. I found it and my eyes got wide and I said, “EEeeww (again), I’m going to cut this out too!” Cut, cut, cut, and I’m off and running. Well, as the process usually goes, I change my mind about my first selections of cardstock; the Oatmeal Cookie cardstock did not make the page pop. I needed some color which would make the page truly come to life. think we went up and down her basement stairs twice to her craftroom each time thinking we had gathered all the supplies we needed to complete the page. I think she went up and down probably three more times getting items from the basement as the process developed. After looking through her selection of FSJ cardstock, I thought, Black Licorice would look great and make all the beautiful colors pop off the page. Done! I hated to lose the Oatmeal Cookie sheet because I had put so much effert into creating the background; so, I thought how ’bout I cut off the ends and make triangles. Snip, snip. Done! We tried embossing the route 66 stamp in black on red, Nooo that didn’t quite look right on the page. I tried sprinkling Sparkle Silk – you would think Sparkle Silk would go with anything – not so. I decided to wait until I got home to look through my stamps to find something to add interest to the background mat (I explain later the whole background process). I kept looking at the page and thinking, it needs something else. I then had a bright idea from a card swap I got in Orlando where a coach had stamped onto pictures. I tried the Black Licorice and it wouldn’t dry, but smeared terribly. I initially used Staz-On and it worked, but when I got home, I looked in the cataolog and we don’t have that product; so, I created my own skies using: FSJ CS-0092 Pool Play cardstock, Dowel Daubers, FSJ IP-0035 Huckleberry Fusion ink, FSJ IP-0051 Pool Play ink, and FSJ IP-0009 Whip Cream ink. I rubbed both shades of inks onto the Pool Play cardstock and went back and added white for clouds with the Whip Cream ink. I stamped the Hit the Road sentiments onto the pre-cut strips with Black Licorice ink (I used my Misti to get multiple stamped impressions – making the words crisp). I cut the banner portion of the sentiment strips, and then I added Journey Glaze and spread it out using my finger. It made the pieces look like they were straight from a picture. Voila. Patsy and I both had agreed it needed some twine, but she didn’t have FSJ twine or a background stamp I could use on the Black Licorice cardstock. I knew I could finish the page at home. I placed all the pieces of my project in my plastic bag and came home. That evening, I sat down and pulled the page together within minutes. I placed some looped FSJ AC-0006 Journey Twine Natural behind the succulent picture. I took the ATS Deco Dots AC-0211 and held it folded in half and dapped the rubber into the Buttercream ink IP-0031 and dabbed it in various places on the Black Licorice base. The Oatmeal Cookie corner triangle pieces are adhered onto the Black cardstock. Everything else is popped out. I really love how this page turned out. A picture does not do it justice.

I hope these projects inspire you to create something amazing. If you would like to create using Fun Stampers Journey products, please visit my website at www.funstampersjourney.com/martymcgee.

I am so excited to share the NEW Fun Stampers Journey Catalog. I know you will want to have this awesome 2017-2018 Inspiration Book & Catalog in your own hands. Yes, I have a new craft room, and it’s dedicated to only papercrafting. There is not my computer with paper clutter from bills, office work (I work from home), printers, other computers, etc., etc., etc, . . . .  So refreshing!

It all began when my son moved out. I had initially wanted his and Ryan’s old room because it has built-in shelves and drawers (my husband made them – he’s sooo talented at woodworking), and I thought this would be perfect to store all my crafting supplies, but the room is the smallest room in our house and I wanted a little stretching room; so, I took over my daughter’s old room, which had become my son’s room when she married and moved out; therefore, the Electric Lime walls you will see in the before pictures below (Josiah never cared about repainting – such a guy thing).

As you can see in the closet photos, it was still full of his things and he has been moved out for several months.

Josiah, my son, has been painting as a side job for the last year; so, I paid him to repaint my walls a nice light blue/green color. In real life it looks more light blue (FSJ Pool Party). I was aiming more for FSJ Cool Pool, but I am definitely not good at determining what pain chip colors will look like on a wall and in different lighting. Even though, it’s not the color I thought I was choosing, I really like it. It is light and bright and invites you to come in and create.

He painted the room while I was on vacation so the room could air out before I got back.

Here are the pictures of right after Josiah painted.

Once the room was painted. I got my son, Josiah, to go with me to The Container Store to purchase the desk tops. I chose these because the comparable ones at Ikea were a little too wide and when two desks are back to back you cannot easily pass supplies to the person across from you. Then, we went to Ikea to purchase the file cabinets, legs and small desktop. Here are the items I purchased:

Ikea has a corner desktop for $49.00 I may purchase in the future, and I will probably purchase another desk top from The Container Store as well. Note: If you have any chemical sensitivities, the Ikea table top and file cabinets give off a chemical smell that could trigger an asthma attack or cause bronchial issues. I had to have my husband seal the underside of the Ikea table top and as many of the desk drawer bottoms as he could – he had already put together one whole file unit before I asked him to seal any exposed areas.

Once my husband put everything together for me, the process of moving crafting supplies began. Here are some moving into the room pictures.

The stacks of paper, trimmers, shelves, die-cutters, etc., is a result of my friend, Cheyenne, deciding I needed my bookshelf my husband had made for me years ago in the closet of the craft room. I told her it could not be placed in the room because we have a right angle turn and the shelves are ceiling height. That did not deter her. Before I knew it, she had taken everything off; thus, the stacks of supplies, and had Kenneth helping her to move it to the room. Here is the picture where they decided it couldn’t fit through the hallway into the room.

Well, never to be hampered by any obstacles, Cheyenne asked Kenneth to cut the shelves in half and then we could stack them on top of each other in the Craft Room closet. Bless his heart, this was one of the few and rare days he had off and there he was sweating to death in the blazing heat cutting the shelves in half. He is the best!

I did not get a picture of Kenneth in the process of re-imagining the shelves, but here is a picture of them in the closet.

I took the top one and flipped it upside down to add a little interest to unit.

I will be taking more pictures of the room in a more finished version. I still need to have either my daughter or husband spray paint my stamp pad holder white and I want to purchase some pvc gutter pipe and make a few ribbon holders. I am very pleased with how the room has developed. If you look at the closet picture above and to the right of the bookshelf is un-used wall space. I need to spackle the holes in the wall (where the previous shelves were hung) and paint the wall white; then, I’ll have my husband make a few more shelves. My goal is to have nothing on the floors; everything on a shelf.

Make sure to keep an eye out for New Craft Room – Part Two.

This post will feature another FSJ (Fun Stampers Journey) May 2017 Bloom Box card re-imagined for the Fab Friday Card Challenge 113. Here is the card sketch for this challenge:

The original design in the FSJ May Bloom Box featured an elegant doily themed Well Wishes card accented with a silk bow and neutral button with natural twine.

Again, I wanted to incorporate some flowers into the design. I created the blue flowers using the technique mentioned in this post Well Wishes Doily Elegance using FSJ Pool Party ink, FSJ Sweet Pear, FSJ Lemongrass, dauber dowels, and the FSJ stamp set Summer Garden. The doily images were stamped onto FSJ Rock Candy cardstock using Butter Cream ink. The base is FSJ Banana Cream cardstock, with FSJ Rock Cany, and FSJ Butter Cream mats. The “Thinking of You” sentiment was stamped onto the Butter Cream cardstock using FSJ Rock Candy ink.

The second doily from the sentiment focal point, is raised up using FSJ Small Foam Squares. The circular center of this doily is die-cut out and the sentiment sits flush with the first doily (it’s hard to tell in the photo – I have a close-up below). The green leaves were created using FSJ Sweet Pear cardstock and the FSJ Bloom Cluster die. The flower bouquet was popped-up with Foam Squares. The final touch was adding FSJ Journey Glaze to the flowers (the sheen does not show up in the photo). I made a boo-boo and some of the glaze got onto the cardstock with the sentiment. Instead of freaking out, I decided to add some more dots of glaze to mimic dewdrops.

All supplies can be ordered by clicking here.

I am in the middle of a very hectic schedule and turning my son’s old bedroom into a craft room. The craft room change over has been slow but steady. This transition has hampered my creativity due to my current craft room being a MESS! I’m in the process of determining what must stay, what must go on Ebay or Etsy to be sold, and what can be moved to the new room so far. I still need to get desk tops and Ikea drawers to complete the transition. I will have a blog about this at some point in the near future.

When I saw this week’s Paper Craft Crew Cared Challenge #245, I knew I had the perfect card to meet the tic-tac-toe challenge:

My Bloom Box stampers met this past Monday and made our cards from the kit, BUT I thought they needed a little something more. So, prior to our meet-up, I had ordered the FSJ SS-0078 Summer Garden stamp set along with our new dauber dowels and sponges (TO0137 – small and TO0138 – large). I have a picture of the card from the kit below:

I took the basic card design and added to it along with changing the sentiment to Well Wishes. The initial card consisted of FSJ Butter Cream cardstock base, FSJ Banana Cream mat, and final piece of FSJ Rock Candy. The doilies are the featured stamp set in this month’s Bloom Box kit. They were stamped onto the Rock Candy cardstock using FSJ Butter Cream ink. I think the stamped images turned out wonderfully well. I changed my sentiment to Well Wishes and stamped it onto the pre-cut tag using FSJ Rock Candy ink. I popped it out using FSJ Foam Squares. The flower and leaves were created using a technique Richard Garay shared on one of his Facebook Live tutorials. I took a sponge dauber dowel and picked up some FSJ Rich Coral ink onto the sponge and I applied the ink to my cardstock in a circular motion. I did this same technique using FSJ Sweet Pear and FSJ Lemongrass. I, then, took my stamps and stamped the images onto those sponged areas using FSJ Black Licorice ink. The flower and foliage were adhered using FSJ Medium Foam Squares. For the ribbon accent, I took the button from the kit and applied FSJ Rock Candy ink straight onto the button edges using the ink pad. I adhered a large diamond rhinestone into its center and adhered it to a double bow made from FSJ twine. Once every thing was adhered to the card, I applied FSJ Journey Glaze to the flower and parts of the leaves. I think this card turned out to be very elegant with a pop of color. I almost forgot – last but not least, a sprinkling of FSJ Silver Silk was applied to the card. Bodda-Bling, Bodda-Boom!

Supplies:

All supplies except for the diamond rhinestone (who knows where I got it from – it was just part of my stash and fit exactly into the depressed area of the button) are available through www.funstampersjourney.com/martymcgee. Note: The stamp set is only available with the Bloom Box Kit. It must be purchased before the end of May and then a commitment of purchasing 5 more kits is required.
